Perhaps it has to do with the fact that you only acknowledge the first definition of a word rather than the intent of the writing.

Either way I had no objection as to have one would have been subjective even though the base of the word is object rather than subject.

Silly that we can see how the base root of all discussion is between an object and a subject, two synonyms that become polar opposites after adding the suffix "ive". It's a good thing we weren't discussing words that end in "ology"... Lol
