I'd venture to bet that anyone writing or laughing at this has either never tried to rip an article like that or has never felt either the anger to do so nor the comfort that not succeeding brings as it allows an end to the rage.

Those that rip shirts and garments on TV and film use light-weight thin materials and they typically have starter slits cut into the edges with a knit that is easily torn once started.

A cerebral person would acknowledge that most jackets are of thick materials with dense fiber counts in many alternating weaves and layers of material.

Perhaps it is simply that these shallow people are laughing at someone else's pain.
